Vaccines are required, or precautions should be taken, to travel in certain countries.
First, it is important to remember the importance of checking with your general practitioner at least one month before your departure.
Be aware that there are two categories of vaccines:
- Universal vaccines: all the vaccines on the French vaccination register. In France, the following are compulsory: poliomyelitis, diphtheria and tetanus. Vaccination against whooping cough, tuberculosis (BCG) and MMR (mumps, measles and rubella) is also recommended in France.
- Vaccines that may be required or strongly recommended by the receiving country: rabies, hepatitis B and malaria.
Remember to keep your certificate of vaccination always within reach.
