People of nationalities that are subject to the visa requirement must contact the Consulate of Tunisia covering their place of residence.
The following documents are required for a visa application:
- Visa form (download here [144 KB]);
- A passport photo;
- A copy of the first pages of your current passport (valid for at least six months);
- A copy of both sides of your current residence permit;
- A hotel reservation, professional invitation or certificate of accommodation authenticated by the competent authorities;
- Consular fee;
- Insurance policy (optional).
Once granted, visas are affixed to a current passport.
Submitting a visa application requires advance payment of the consular fees which are non-refundable if the visa is denied.
Beginning 1st October 2014, a 30 dinar tax (equivalent to €13) in the form of a passport stamp is payable
when you leave Tunisia by any person not residing in Tunisia with the exception of Tunisians living abroad.
This stamp is available at points of sale in ports, airports and land-based border control checkpoints.
Visa exempt nationalities
Citizens of the following countries are exempt from the visa requirement for stays of up to three months:
- Arab World
Algeria, Bahrain, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Qatar and United Arab Emirates
Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Monaco, Norway, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Vatican City
Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Fiji, Honduras, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and United States of America
Brunei, Fiji, Hong Kong, Kiribati, Malaysia, Maldives and South Korea
Kiribati and Salomon Islands
